He was down to the last three dollars. There was one thing he had
always aspired to be: a singer. The opportunity went unnoticed for about
four months before he found out that he had lived just across from a
guy who owned a studio all along. Yet even when he found this out he did
nothing about it because he was too scared. Scared of not knowing if he
was good enough, scared of failing. For a while he didn’t take the
chance but continued to ask his friends every other day if he should
try. The response was always an exasperated yes. Now he was down to the
last three dollars and that certainly wasn’t enough to pay for a
recording session in a studio. Therefore he began doing odd and end jobs
around his neighborhood until he finally had the money. Using all of
the motivation and courage he could muster, he went for it. Guess what?
He sold about twenty-seven CD’s and ended up taking on two day jobs to
pay for his failure. He never regretted it though because at least he
found out. He now can proudly say that he knows his potential and what
he still has to learn, and that is something that he can live with.
