On Sunday March 4th, 2012 a chilly start to the

day saw the best of Palm Beach and Wellington society gather together for the

eighth annual Polo With Pedro benefit. Held to honor Pedro Morrison who sat on

the board of the YMCA of the Palm Beaches this event has become one of the

biggest fundraisers of the equestrian season.

Creative Director for Polo With Pedro, Kirsten Braden

praised her team: “I have been very honored to work on this committee and help

grow this fantastic event. This year was my last year as I am dedicating more

time to my family.” Kirsten leaves behind an event which has been sold out for

the last two years and is the main fundraiser for the YMCA of the Palm Beaches.

Tennis player and ex-husband to Chris Evert, John Lloyd attended the event; “It

was an entertaining day people and polo watching!” he said.

The event was

supported by many friends of the Morrison family and local captains of

industry such as the Mark and Katherine Bellissimo family who own the Winter

Equestrian Festival, Tim Gannon owner of Outback Steakhouse and Royal Salute’s Scottish spokesperson his Grace the Duke of

Argyll.

As the day warmed up, so did the hearts of the attendees: Many

great live auction items including an unprecedented donation of membership to

the exclusive International Polo Club and the chance to play polo with celebrity

polo player Nic Roldan. The auction raised $140,000 with local philanthropist

Tony Beyer bidding for many auction items and then donating them back. So many

supporters wanted Marc Ganzi’s (Patron of the Audi polo team) premium Miami

Heat tickets that he donated another set. Badgely Mishka models sashayed around

showing off the latest runway designs.

The event took place against the backdrop of an exciting

polo match where the owner of the Valiente 1 polo team Bob

Jornayvaz duked it out against his son’s team Valiente 2 to victory.
