Wellington, FL – February 5, 2014 – The Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) hosts its fifth week of competition on February 6-9, 2014, at The Stadium at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center. Along with some of the top dressage combinations in the world, the AGDF brings in the best officials and judges for a truly world-class competition. “Friday Night Stars” returns to it’s original time, with gates opening at 6 pm, for the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle, presented by The Dutta Corp., on Friday, February 7.

Entries are extremely strong for this week’s competition, and this ranks among the largest dressage shows in North America. There are 160 national entries expected, along with 63 entries in both the CDI 4* and CDI 3* classes. The FEI Grand Prix classes at both levels will have 19 competitors, while the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle will host 12 and the FEI Grand Prix Special will have seven.

The “Friday Night Stars” sees the best in musical freestyles, and there will also be fun and entertaining exhibitions, such as the Yale Spizzwinks(?) a capella singing group and Knock-Out Dressage, a fun exhibition where two dressage riders go head-to-head riding the same shortened dressage test. Don’t miss this great, family-friendly event with free general admission and parking.

While most people can appreciate the top riders and horses, others would be interested to know that they are being appraised by some of the most respected and distinguished judges in the sport of dressage. These include Gary Rockwell of the United States, and Maribel Alonso (MEX), both Olympic-level judges; Liselotte Fore (USA), who will serve on the ground jury at the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG); and Isabelle Judet (FRA), who was recently named President of the Ground Jury for Dressage at the 2014 WEG.

Don’t miss all of the exciting competition this week and at Friday Night Stars! For more information, please visit www.globaldressagefestival.com.
