The Gulf Stream Council of the Boy Scouts of America supports over 8,900 scouting youth, representing seven counties in Southeast Florida. The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The Lighthouse District of the Gulf Stream Council serves the northern half of Palm Beach County, including the Palm Beaches, Jupiter, Tequesta, and Loxahatchee, and provides programming to over 3,000 youth and 800 adult volunteers. In addition to traditional Scouting units, it also provides funding for the national ScoutReach Initiative. The Lighthouse District’s ScoutReach Initiative provides programming and camping opportunities for our area’s at-risk/under-served youth, hosts 6 Cub Scout Packs and 2 Boy Scout Troops, and supports 120 registered youth (91% of these youth attend a Title 1 school in low-income areas, and 83% come from single-family homes). We are now at the height of our fundraising activities. We will be hosting a series of pre-event social receptions on the 6th of each month from July through November. These individual events will culminate, on December 6th, with our 2nd annual Wild Beast Feast at The Bonnette Hunt Club Banquet Lodge in Palm Beach Gardens. Sincerely, The Lighthouse District Friends of Scouting Committee Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
