Spring is quickly transitioning into summer here in Florida, so we have been spending a lot of time outdoors before it gets extra hot. It’s our favorite time of year to get fresh air, watch for new blooms and wait for birds, bunnies and butterflies to pass by. My girls and I have also been itching to start a garden for some time now and have noticed a garden theme popping up around our house. Come along today to see the new lemon pillows and children’s gardening book that are inspiring us to set our gardening plans in motion!

Citrus fruits like lemons, oranges and grapefruits have always been my favorite. I love them for their taste and their smell in essential oils or cleaning products, so they are definitely on our list of trees to plant in our new garden. I also love decorating with them, so when I recently spotted this Fresh Squeezed Pillow in blush from Brooke and Lou by Bria Hammel Interiors, I knew a pair of them would work perfectly in our home!

Everything from Brooke and Lou is both beautiful and life-friendly, and I especially love that these lemon pillows can easily be spot treated or machine washed. And because we love this line so much and are excited to kick-off Mother’s Day, we are giving away a $100 gift card to Brooke & Lou on our Instagram account. Be sure to hop over there right away and enter the contest before it ends on Saturday, May 11, 2019 11:59 pm EST!

My other recent favorite garden-friendly find is the We are the Gardeners children’s book by Joanna Gaines and her kids. It’s such a sweet story about family, gardening, and trials and errors. We have been reading it to the kids at bedtime every night and can’t put it down! It’s full of life lessons and love and is the perfect push we needed to start our garden!

We’d love to know, do you have a garden or plans to plant a garden? Please share! xo
